Brazos Bookstore presents Marlon James, reading from his new book Black Leopard, Red Wolf.

Marlon James is the author of the New York Times bestseller A Brief History of Seven Killings, The Book of Night Women, and John Crow’s Devil. A Brief History of Seven Killings won the Man Booker Prize, the American Book Award, and the Anisfield-Wolf Award for Fiction, and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. The Book of Night Women won the Minnesota Book Award and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award, as well as the NAACP Image Award.

Drawing from African history and mythology and his own rich imagination, Marlon James has written a novel unlike anything that’s come before it: a saga of breathtaking adventure that’s also an ambitious, involving read. Defying categorization and full of unforgettable characters, Black Leopard, Red Wolf is both surprising and profound as it explores the fundamentals of truth, the limits of power, and our need to understand them both.

This event will take place on Sunday, February 10 at Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church. This is a ticketed event. Doors open at 7pm. the event starts at 7:30pm.

There are two ticket options: ADMIT ONE tickets are $30 plus tax and include a single seat, as well as a hardcover copy of Black Leopard, Red Wolf. ADMIT TWO tickets are $35 plus tax and include two seats, as well as one hardcover copy of Black Leopard, Red Wolf.

Once you purchase online, you will receive a confirmation email within 24-48 hours. Physical tickets (and copies of the book) are available for pickup at the store after you receive a confirmation email, or at the venue the night of. If you have purchased a ticket and are unable to attend but would like to pick up your signed copy of Black Leopard, Red Wolf, you must pick up your unclaimed book within two weeks of the event (by February 25). We are unable to hold books or proof of purchase past February 25.

Marlon James will be signing and personalizing books after the event.
