Palmer’s Annual Parish Retreat at Camp Allen is scheduled for October 20–22, 2017 and we want YOU to join us for a special weekend of formation, fellowship and fun!
Enjoy this wonderful video from a past year...
Each year, Palmer offers an all-ages weekend retreat at Camp Allen, a camp, conference and retreat center in Navasota, TX about 1.5 hours from Houston. It is a wonderful way to get to know one another in a relaxed setting, and to reconnect with family, friends--and with God. Our theme this year is "Heirs Through Hope" and we are excited to share with you that The Rev. Sarah Condon will be our guest speaker for the adult program on Saturday morning and Will Parker will be our guest musician. Will will lead our Saturday morning children's program and emcee our Saturday evening Variety Show. The Rev. Condon currently serves at St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston. She is a frequent contributor to Mockingbird Ministries, author of "Churchy" and previously served on the chaplaincy staff at St. Luke's Hospital.
Sarah is a native of Mississippi and studied at the Center for Southern Culture at the University of Mississippi. She received her Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School in 2013. Sarah and her husband, Josh, have two children, Neil and Annie. Will Parker is a children's songwriter and teaching artist, making music for "kids ages 1-100." During Will's whimsical and interactive shows, he plays guitar and harmonica and sings songs that open us up to the world of imagination while simultaneously validating the human experience. Will holds both a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Trinity University and teaches theatre at KIPP University Prep High School. Will stays active in the local San Antonio theatre community as well. He performs with a musical improv troupe, When Can Do, and he has also served as the teaching artist for the Magik Theatre X-celerated Theatre program for incarcerated youth. We are also excited about an enhanced program for Palmer's youth in Grades 6-12.
Situated on 1,100 acres in the serene piney woods of the Navasota area, Camp Allen provides a place to relax, refresh, and refocus.
The cost for the weekend is $56 for adults and $36 children.
There are 10 inn rooms available on a first come/first serve basis at a cost of $160/one person and $200/two people.
