Each time we gather for Dinner & Discussion, we have the opportunity to deepen friendships, to examine the relationship of our faith to current issues, and to grow in our commitment to make our relationship with Christ affect all that we do.
This month, we are delighted to welcome Dr. Caleb McDaniel to Dinner & Discussion. Dr. McDaniel is an historian of slavery, abolitionism, transatlantic reform, and the nineteenth-century United States in the Department of History at Rice University and his most recent book, Sweet Taste of Liberty, tells the story of Henrietta Wood–a woman who was born enslaved, freed before the Civil War, kidnapped and re-enslaved, and then freed again by the war– and her lawsuit against the man who kidnapped and enslaved her. You can read more abut Dr. McDaniel here or find out by joining us on Zoom.
