Art class: Under the Fig Tree - Creating our Way through Lent

Please join us for "Under the Fig Tree: Creating our Way through Lent" with Roger Hutchison. The class will take place every Wednesday during Lent from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM in the Holy Cross Children's Room. This class is open to high schoolers and adults. In John 1:48, Nathanael asks Jesus, "How do you know me?" and Jesus answers with a twinkle in his eye, "I saw you while you were still under the fig tree." Lent is a time for reflection, and we invite you to slow down and journey with Jesus through his life, death, and resurrection. Each participant is invited to walk with Jesus as a friend and disciple, to sit with him under the fig tree, and to talk, listen, and glimpse the face and heart of authentic love. We will provide art supplies, but you can also bring your own. This is open to all levels - those dipping your toe in for the first time to professional artists.

DISCUSSION GROUP: BEING WITH

Being With is a ten-week group that’s an opportunity to discuss Christianity in a positive and inclusive setting. No special language or religious knowledge is needed to participate. All you need to bring to the table is what you’ve learned in life so far. If you’ve felt uncomfortable in church or distant from God, or if you’re finding your way around a new kind of faith that feels different from how you grew up, this group is for you.

Being With also involves a high commitment. There will be a maximum of 10 participants and two leaders, including the Rev’d Neil Alan Willard. Each class will be 90 minutes long, 6:30 to 8:00 PM, and it’s important to try to attend all ten classes in the series. Classes 1-5 will meet in person on the following dates in the season of Lent: Feb. 21, Feb. 28, Mar. 6, Mar. 13, and Mar. 20. Classes 6-10 will meet in person on the following dates in the season of Easter: Apr. 3, Apr. 10, Apr. 17, Apr. 24, and May 1.

In order to sign up for Being With, please contact the Rev’d Neil Alan Willard at  .
