Baptism
In Baptism we are incorporated into Christ’s body, infused with Christ’s character and empowered to be Christ's reconciling presence in the world. The appropriate dates for baptism, according to the Book of Common Prayer (p. 312), are the Easter Vigil, the Day of Pentecost, All Saints’ Day, the Feast of the Baptism of our Lord, and when a Bishop is present. In addition, Palmer offers the Sunday after Easter for baptisms. If you’re planning on having a child baptized, please arrange for the baptism before you invite out of town friends and relatives to attend.
Please contact Catherine Beebe to learn more about Baptism at Palmer. For consultation about baptism contact the Rev'd Allen Junek at .
Confirmation
Confirmation is the rite in which we express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength for the Holy Spirit through prayer and laying on of hands by the bishop. (BCP 860)

Youth Confirmation (9TH GRADE & OLDER)
Confirmation is the opportunity where youth, often baptized as infants and raised in and around churches, decide to make the faith of their upbringing into their own. This process is marked with the laying on of hands by a bishop. To prepare for this, confirmands meet with clergy and lay catechists over the course of a semester to study, pray, and make plans for this transition in their life of faith. Please contact Roger Hutchison, if you have any questions or need more information.
