DINNER & DISCUSSION WITH DR. BRADY KNAPP
Have you ever wondered how the music elements for Palmer’s Sunday liturgies and para-liturgies happen? How the service music, hymns, anthems and motets are selected? How does the organist know when to start? How do the director, the organists, the children’s choir director and music staff and choirs work together with the clergy to provide music for the parish? Dr. Brady Knapp, Palmer’s Director of Music, will join Dinner & Discussion on Friday, October 18th to provide an overview of how music for worship is planned and prepared each week. Dr. Knapp has been the Director of Music at Palmer since 1998 and oversees an active multi-generational music ministry. Additionally, he is an Associate Professor of Music at the University of St Thomas, where he teaches studio voice to music majors, leads the UST choir and opera workshop, and advises music major students coordinating the graduate and undergraduate degree programs. All are welcome to join Dinner & Discussion at the home of Susan Williford (3302 Robinhood, Houston 77005). Come at 7 PM and bring a dish to share with about six people, plus $3 each to cover beverage costs. If you have any questions, contact Joan Baird Glover at  .
