Inclusion Matters

In the first century, Jesus of Nazareth inspired a movement—a community of people whose lives were centered on Jesus Christ and committed to living the way of God’s unconditional, unselfish, sacrificial, and redemptive love. That movement continues today.

As Episcopalians, we believe in a loving, liberating, and life-giving God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We seek to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection bring healing and hope to the world.

We are shaped by a long and living tradition that values shared leadership and the dignity of every person. Women and men serve as bishops, priests, and deacons, and laypeople and clergy together share in the leadership of the Church. We believe leadership is a gift from God and is expressed in many ways.

Above all, we believe that God’s love is for everyone—no exceptions.
