Many of us experienced the failure of the Texas electricity supply chain during Winter Storm Uri, the Derecho, and Hurricane Beryl. At the September 20 Dinner & Discussion gathering, we are fortunate to have Ed Hirs, a leading energy economist at the University of Houston, explain this unwieldy system. Ed, who is recognized for his work across energy markets, environment, finance and corporate governance, founded and co-chairs an annual energy conference at Yale University. His articles and commentary are frequently seen in Forbes, The New York Times, The Houston Chronicle, Oil and Gas Investor, and a variety of national outlets.
