Holy Week Schedule 

 

MAUNDY THURSDAY | March 28

6:00 PM Light Dinner in St. Bede's Chapel
We will begin the evening with a light soup dinner gathered together in St. Bede's Chapel.

7:00 PM Holy Eucharist, Rite II | Church *
This service, when we remember the institution of the Lord’s Supper, will include the optional washing of feet. It will conclude in silence with the stripping of the altar.

8:00 PM All Night Vigil – Altar of Repose | St. Bede’s Chapel
You are invited to spend part of this night in prayer at Palmer as Jesus invited his disciples to do so in the Garden of Gethsemane. Special music will be offered in the chapel 8:00-9:00 PM on Thursday night and 7:00-8:00 AM on Friday morning.

GOOD FRIDAY | March 29

NOON Good Friday Liturgy | Church
Street parking on Main Street will be available for this service by obtaining a permit from the officer by the welcome tent.

1:15 PM Stations of the Cross | Church

7:00 PM Le Chemin de la Croix | Church*
Palmer’s Organist and Artist-in-Resident, Ken Cowan, will play Marcel Dupré's Le chemin de la Croix (Stations of the Cross) on Palmer’s Fisk organ. The music will be accompanied by the poems of Paul Claudel as we continue to reflect on the sufferings and death of Jesus on this day called Good.

HOLY SATURDAY | March 30

10:00 AM “Easter Grace Gardens” | Courtyard
Bring your own flowerpot or shallow dish to fill as you create a small garden to take home. Everything else will be provided.

7:00 PM The Great Vigil & First Eucharist of Easter, Rite II | Church
This Festival Choral Eucharist will include music by Palmer’s adult and children's choirs.

EASTER DAY | March 31

7:30 AM The Second Eucharist of Easter, Rite I | Church *
Holy Eucharist with hymns.

9:00 AM The Third Eucharist of Easter, Rite II | Church *
This Festival Choral Eucharist will include music by Palmer’s adult choir.

11:15 AM The Fourth Eucharist of Easter, Rite I | Church *
This Festival Choral Eucharist will include music by Palmer’s adult choir.

Limited parking is available in the lot north of Palmer’s campus on the Palmer side of Main Street and in the lot south of Palmer’s campus on the Palmer side of Fannin Street. Free parking along Main Street is available at all times on weekends and after 6:00 PM on weekdays. Free parking on Sunday mornings is available in the Founders Court parking lot, at the southeast corner of Lovett Hall, across the street at Rice University, by using the intercom button at the parking gate. Parking for a fee is available at all times in Rice University’s Cambridge Office Building parking garage and in Memorial Hermann Medical Plaza’s parking garage.
